The Invitation Of Life Poem by Walterrean Salley

The Invitation Of Life

Rating: 5.0

Though life beckons
To see her many sides.
Be wary of such 'tour.'
Let your conscience guide.

She appears stunning—
Desirable and appealing.
But watch her ways;
Her paths are revealing.

So you long for her glare.
But what waits in her wings?
Be very careful—
She kisses and then stings.

There's love and kindness.
Yet there's another side.
There's peace and harmony,
And arrogance and pride.

There's the straight and narrow,
But the crooked too.
And her corridors wait
For the likes of you.
