The Land Of Kings Poem by Nell Sheridan

The Land Of Kings

This mirror reflects thereality, defiance pointless, a mere impression the only remanent,
Etched within my soul, lifelong experiences, each one efficaciously ardent,
I show many signs, of old age, my well earned, battle wounds,
Characteristically profound, this war against age, overtly it consumes,
She whispers in tune:
I love this no-man's country,
I love the collective affinity,
My Emancipated spirit,
Silently she dances, YES! She dances with me,

The sunlight gently infolds, her magnificentcolours, burning for observation,
Giving false impression, she is absolutely untouched, by my civilisation,
An antisocial landscape, extends beyond forever, isolating your heart,
Silence incomparable, you and you alone, astounded by this art,

She whispers in tune:
I love this no-man's country,
I love the collective affinity,
My Emancipated spirit,
Silently she dances, YES! She dances with me,

The spinifex desert, heat refracting furiously, off the parched ground courteously,
The sand and surf, of the natural beaches, extending evervirtuously,
Mountain waterfalls cascade, the overwhelming oasis, privy to no other man,
Untouched and unspoiled, this beauty is reserved, this is where life began,

She whispers in tune:
I love this no-man's country,
I love the collective affinity,
My Emancipated spirit,
Silently she dances, YES! She dances with me,

I have not achieved, fame or fortune,or merely divine enlightenment,
Yet I sit here alone, pondering efficiently, with absolutely no malcontent,
I would not change, my life if I could, none of those solitary little things,
II have seen and heard, I have lived, I have walked The Land Of Kings.

She whispers in tune:
I love this no-man's country,
I love the collective affinity,
My Emancipated spirit,
Silently she dances, YES! She dances with me,

Lovely poem of a person confined yet, her spirit still alive and kicking. Lovely.
