The Leaf Poem by Jim Yerman

The Leaf

Is there a more appropriately named slice of nature than the leaf... populating the trees
Shimmering in the sunshine...whispering in the breeze?

When it falls from the tree in Autumn, there's no reason we should grieve
For its name has determined its destiny...it is just his time to leave.

And we smile knowingly in winter...because we are of the belief
It will return in springtime...much to our re-leaf.
