The Leopard Has A Coat(Verso Xliv) Poem by Reva Kern

The Leopard Has A Coat(Verso Xliv)

The leopard has a coat
In its dry and brown forest
I have more than the leopard
Because I have a good friend

It sleeps, like a toy
The same in its bearing
Oh, the maple of Japan, I say:
There is no refuge like a friend

The Count has his history
The beggar has the dawn
The bird has a wing:I have
There in Mexico a friend!

The President has
A garden with a fountain
And a treasure in gold and wheat
I have more, I have a friend
