The Magnolia Poem by Raymond Farrell

The Magnolia

Rating: 5.0

The magnolia tree
Stood unnoticed all winter
Off by itself
Next to the rusting iron fence
Stark in its coat
Of dull gray bark
But now it is April
And as I sit
Under the locust tree
Enjoying the Spring air
I notice
It is sending forth
A floral bounty
Of creamy yellow flowers
As the bouquet grows
More and more people
Are taking notice
And dropping by
To take pictures
Commenting as they do
On how exquisite
It looks.
