Last night, I heard some sweet, clever music
Coming from upstairs
So sweet I wanted to join the man who lived there
He was my age andd lived alone
But I was too shy to go there
Maybe, if I went there
And introduce myself with a bottle of wine
He would fall in madly love with me
But I don't drink, so, I wouldn't know what to buy
And he might not drink at all
Maybe, he has a girlfriend already
If he does, my heart would be crushed again
Finding the hard way with disappointment
And the embrassment of trying to get a date
Would be overbearing
I guess I will stay here and listen to the music
As I become the oldest living virgin
No one would bother to find out
The heartbreaking pain and suffering of intense loneliness is so very well expressed in this excellent poem. My Poetess Friend, maybe, just maybe, your sentiments are also his.
