The Memorable Tryst Poem by Diwakar Bhatt

The Memorable Tryst

Never can I forget the day of our amorous tryst first,
So anxious, shy to the core but in me she could trust.

Wooed her with the confident panache of a lover great,
Any Herculean task I could do to win her love at any rate.

Held her hands shaking like a leaf in the winter chill,
Sweaty palms and reddening ears depicted the thrill.

Tenderer she was than the tenderness itself so amazing,
Like the flower of “touch me not” sensitive and endearing.

Her angelic face and grace set deep into my heart,
Beholding her was real peace of life never to depart.

Revering her sublime beauty was more than orisons to deity,
No need of chants but quietude would appease the divinity.

Giselle she was in the wake of such a dream come true,
Her cool gaze made me lost in the mist of her eyes blue.

Rose to the astral planes my soul in an ecstatic vibrancy,
Every fraction of my body lived each moment in luxury.

Lips like the petals of a celestial bloom murmured softly,
Shifted me down to the real world from land of love slowly.

Words were never so sweet like an exotically honeyed brew,
Love seemed emanating as a fragrance the more close I drew.

Put my finger on her lips to keep quiet not to break silence,
To talk through eyes and resonance of hearts in love’s parlance.

She moved my hand and laid it over her heart beating fast,
A serene way of expressing her limitless love forever to last.

Overtaken by the rapturous feelings like the revelations divine,
My soul was in unison with Almighty god being on the cloud nine.
