The Moment Poem by Max Reif

The Moment

Rating: 5.0

The moment
love creeps in
enough to call it love,

formed from some kind
of embryo of love:

on a private computer chat this time,
a month or two after connecting
in the discussion group.

Letter by letter the words
'I love you' appear on screen,
typed by the person now my wife,
2,000 miles away,

the medicine beginning
immediately to sink
through my previously
impermeable shell

eliciting before long
the same words
like a reflection rising up
from a lush, deep pool in me,

drawing us together,
building a raft
on which we continue
to fare the seas

Ooohhhhhhhhh! ! ! ! That is so romantic and lovely. So meaningful and dreamy. Worth reading more than once or twice. Sweet words. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
