You meet someone
and you wonder
from the word go,
you wonder
in a curious
sort of way,
you meditate
on your solitary life,
a life though neatly arranged-
opens a space,
you are not the one looking
but you feel the muchness
of the way.
Then you look
into those clear blue eyes,
so well loved
you forget your place,
and like a nun
wrapped in silent prayer-
you feel the muchness of the love
in the One.
Muchness- - - how in the world did you create such a perfect word for this poem, for these feelings? You revel in words, don't you? They are not flat cardboard sounds measured out by alphabetic characters, they are the rich fecund languages of the heart and soul. This poem sings to me and I give it top rankings and a place on my fav list of poems and you a place on my fav poets list
I am honored Susan as I have the highest regard for your penmanship. Thank you

I can't help but wonder where these thoughts take root and flourish from. I have read this writing several times which is a rarity for me and yet each time I come away marveling at the ease of such solemn insight. Trickling through my mind, the same yet different every time. I am left with that feeling I get when you push off silently from shore in a canoe. Wrapped in silent prayer......sighs, blue skies, silence and damselflies.
I feel privileged that you take the time to read my poems Edmund. even your comments are pure poetry. Spent much of my life living in solitude in a wood with lots of time to ponder the mystery of life though to be honest I am none the wiser. Had a near death experience a few years ago and since then there has been a heightened sense of enjoyment of this whole human drama and a deep sense that no matter what happens on the surface deep down all is well. I have no religion but the sheer delight of being alive. Oops! ! i got carried away. Anyway im still basking in 'that feeling I get when when you push off silently from shore in a canoe 'your words draw me into the stillness Edmund.
