The Mythical Peacock - Poem by Dilantha Gunawardana

A million eyes on a dazzling sundress
A feathered tail in her fullest bloom
Each entwined in golden strands
Glistening in the veil of dawn
Yet amidst the dazzling glory
Of the picturesque tapestry of her iris
The unguarded pupil captures
A whisk of perpetual blue
Of an ocean in her enigmatic aura
To unveil a masterpiece of beauty
The fusion of the golden sands of Serendib
With the eternal tides of the Indian empress
All captured in the eyes of a mystical goddess
The mythical peacock
