The Night The Forest Grew... Poem by Annette Aitken

The Night The Forest Grew...

Rating: 5.0

The Night The Forest Grew.

The night,
the forest grew,
did I stumble on to a nightmare
where life is spinning out of control
for I dare not walk away
to abandon my confusion
as the vine leaves restrain my movements
when suddenly beyond all reason
to be emotionally colour blind
could even change one's beliefs.

As sudden disruptive change
can be somewhat painful
try to re-evaluate your plight
allow primitive feelings to rise
welcome change
welcome new beginnings
welcome that warm fuzzy feeling of accepting
welcome the glow of hope
let it break through the cracks
it's an honour, to be the beneficiary of its guiding light

For in my heart of hearts the
yearning, longing for joy to return.
