The Liar Poem by Annette Aitken

The Liar

Rating: 4.5

The Liar

He told his friends that we were finish
but never thought to tell me this
when every morning got out of my bed
kiss me good morning before he left
always said I love you darling
then off he went to start his living.

Every morning he'd phone me up
wake up darling it's time to get up
yet all the time he's texting her
then going to see her when he's at work.

He'd come back home give me a kiss
how was your day?
mine was shit. (but)
a kiss and a cuddle would put it right
we'll cuddle in tight tonight.

Be careful those who take him in
a wolf in sheep's clothing lies within
I'd question every word he utters
the wool he pulls could be
yours and others.

This will be the last I post
about this liar, this utter joke
My life's now richer now he's gone
my family, my loved ones all around

For he will die a lonesome man
whom can he trust, or ever can.
For once a cheat always a cheat
be careful of the seeds you reap.

Dedicated to the liar John Forsyth.

A wolf in sheep's clothing. Lies destroy everything in life. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.

the of he went to start his living. i think you need some lubricant on keys n and f. hee-hee. and liar or lair? it's only fair.............. you tell good old Bri! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - i'm liking this: (even WITH becareful, which here in California i would spell be careful. but it could be all the drugs i'm taking! and oil the i key as well, my friend. yes, this: Becareful those who take hm in a wolf in sheeps clothing lies within I'd question every word he utters the wool he pulls could be yours and others. ...................i like the rhyming as well. - - - - - - - - - - - who, pray TELL, is John Forsyth? ? ? i think there was an actor in u.s.a. with that name. and, what about this stanza? i think it could use some makeover. ask if you don't agree. For he will die a lonesome man whom can he trust, or ever can. For once a cheat always a cheat becareful of the seeds you ripe. .......................... ...............and ripe? maybe in U.K.? here i've heard the saying something like this: You reap what you sow.***** **** [i don't usually use a bible passage as a reference! ] Galatians 6: 7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man... biblehub.com/galatians/6-7.htm Bible Hub Don't be misled- you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always... Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. ‎Galatians 6: 8 · ‎Galatians 6: 6 · ‎King James Bible · ‎Galatians 6: 7 ======================= bri ;) to MyPoemList

Well thought out poem, I think we've all had the misfortune to met at least one unscrupulous underhand lair who's sole purpose in life is just themselves no matter how much damage and hurt is caused to others.

Annette, not everything we think is worth saying, everything we say isn’t worth writing, everything we write isn’t worth posting. If this is some sort of pastiche about infidelity, well, we can take or leave its poetic merit as we find it, but if it having a kick at a real Mr F by writing up his name on the Poemhunter wall, I’d say that has nought to do with poetry. Approval can come cheap on poemhunter - don't take it at face value. Barney
