The Nightmare Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

The Nightmare

Rating: 5.0

We're running out of time
No time to lie and be idle
The ecstasy of the world is burning up
Flash floods from a three-day rain
That lasted an hour drowns the poor
While the people with means survive
The wind is blowing queerly stronger
Causing their shacks to tumble
There's no hope for this species
For ther power in charge is getting kickbacks
From Standard Oil and their products
Letting the earth die
No one, not even, the next generation can stop it
As the nightmare comes true

I have always enjoyed your poems, LeeAnn, all themes are always in my taste and no matter what, I like your poems very much, all of them, no matter the subject, since you are a born poetess.
