The One Minus One - Poem by Airda Jones

The dust bites my face
Guess you put me in my place
Speeding away like you did

Don't know what I did this time
And of course the fault is mine
Who am I trying to kid

You didn't want to be here
In a sense you never were
You just played the part

Was it all a joke to you?
To leave me alone and confused
And with a trampled heart

It hurts to think so
And that I didn't know
That was your plan

Just using me as your doll
And that was all
Thought you were a better man

Obviously I thought wrong
Yea, that's my song
You weren't the one

Just like the others before
You never wanted more
Only wanted some

Well, if that's what you
Really want to do
I won't stand in your way

I know you'd leave somehow
And if it wasn't now
It'd just be another day

The sooner you leave
The sooner I can be free
The sooner I can be
Me.
