The One-Legged Girl Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

The One-Legged Girl

Rating: 5.0

It doesn't matter how many times
I see the picture, my heart breaks
I can't get use seeing the one-legged girl
And wanting to hold her and take her home
But I don't know what to do
Who's to blame?
The Israelis are bent on destroying Hamas
No matter who dies
And deteriorating a chance for peace
I feel helpless so much
That I don't watch TV and cry
As I write poetry that won't see
The light of day
For they will continue to throw bombs
Until a big one blows us all
