The Orison Poem by Dave Dafes

The Orison

Peace perfect peace,
Pierce my imperfect glace.
Rivers of Joy spring within my breast.

Thy presence my heart ills healed,
My shackled feet it unshackled,
That into thy rest I may leap.

Thy wondrous light,
That illuminates my night,
Fills me with an inner glow.

Grant Great God
The entreaties of a humble page
Chastise me not in thy rage
That thy wrath be, by thy mercy assuage

Let my life express
What my mouth professes
Make each step I take
Reveal You in its wake

Let my heart intent
Be what you intend
May my act be, by your words sway
That I might not stray

Wherever I go with me Abide
Bade thy Spirit not from me depart
So we may together continue in thy path
