The Owl And The Rat (A Poem For Children) Poem by Rajesh Thankappan

The Owl And The Rat (A Poem For Children)

Rating: 5.0

The owl was hungry
The night dark and sundry
So he opened his wings
Flew in widening rings,
Soon he spotted a rat
Big, meaty and fat
He swooped upon him
Picked him by his limb
He was about to break his fast
When the frightened rat made a fart
This startled the owl
Who with an alarming howl
Let the rat go
Ha, Ha, ho! Ha, Ha, ho!

That was fun reading it, and the quite unexpected twist, is the salt and pepper of the poem. An enjoyable read!

Very interesting! Probably the owl must have thought that somewhere a bomb was exploded....! . Oh.. that is so much of an exaggeration! After all a rat is so small that its fart cannot be so loud! Definitely children will enjoy this!

Very humorous, Rajesh-ji. Laughed and laughed. Poor owl - where did he go for his breakfast?
