The Parent Trap Poem by Ima Ryma

The Parent Trap

They raised their kids and off they sent,
Thinking that they had done their best.
But then the grown kids did present
Back again - a parental test.
A mooching grown up kid is bad.
Of course the kid is family.
Decision time for Mom and Dad.
How giving should the parents be?
Do the parents have lots to share,
Or have some lean and mean times struck,
Determine how the grown kids fare,
And whether in or out of luck.

Their grown up kids stick close like glue.
What are penguin parents to do!
