The past
comes back at us
with a vengeance,
an unrelieved itch.
those rose buds of
the rosy days passed
may never blossom
and shed fragrance,
but the thorns
definitely
get sharper
by the hour.
Thank you, dear poets Cowboy Ron Williams, Denis Meir, Anjandev and Dillip K Swain for appreciating the poetic effort
Yes, this one is perfectly right! An excellent series dear poet!
My experience has been more or less the opposite. I remember the roses more than the thorns.
A sensitive soul is vulnerable to being ambushed by the past. (Suggestion: 'shed fragrance' instead of 'she'd fragrance')
