The Pilot Poem by Randy McClave

The Pilot

There I stopped at a red light
Quickly I surveyed all that was in my sight,
Then I looked at the car directly in front of me
And there I truly couldn't believe what I did see.
I had just read that car's bumper sticker
It just made me sad and not want to snicker,
Then from doubt I read it once again
And then once more, I could not grin.
I saw the person sitting behind the car wheel
Them probably believing that they are a big deal,
Because I read their bumper sticker colored violet
It said that God, God almighty was their co-pilot.
God is the creator of everything
God is the reason that the word does sing,
And God is the reason why we all are alive
God is there with us whenever or whenever we drive.
Then the traffic light finally changed to green
Then I looked out my window at another scene,
I looked at the clouds and then I thought of my soul
God is the pilot! and he's the one that's in control.
