This line was the first thing I committed to memory when I first learn to read - " for it's nobody's habit to ride on a rabbit or try to bestraddle a fox' It still tickles me to recite :) age 91

Awesome, lovely! It makes me feel so empathetic to the gentle, unassuming camel.
Can you hear the delighted laughter of children as they lie in bed being read this by their father? What a happy way to send a tot off to dreamland. Charles Edward Carryl was a treasure and still is.
Comparison of camel and it's habitat and other animals and birds in a jolly way is very lovely and interesting. Thanks for sharing.
