THE POEM Poem by Willem van Toorn

THE POEM

So you may never pass from sight
inside the poem I hold you tight -
the way you walk, the way you lie,
the way your body speaks to me.

In centuries still to be
a face alive and reading might
be bending, the better to see,
over the poem, the words I write
to put you down in black and white.

Well articulated and nicely penned in beautiful rhyme scheme with conviction. An insightful piece of poetry. Thanks for sharing.
