The Price Of Liberty Poem by Unnikrishnan Sivasankara Menon

The Price Of Liberty

Rating: 5.0

"Take to arms", said
Subhash Chandra Bose
To the youth of India,
"And fight the oppression,

"Give me blood and
I will give you liberty."
Indian National Army
Was built thus.

And young blood
Joined his
To form a mighty
River of liberty.

In Ukraine 2022
Thirty seven thousand
Civilians
Have taken arms
To protect
Their liberty.
A mighty dictator
Is detested
By the people who
Embrace liberty.
The price of
Liberty
Is
Blood!

A war is not a way to win supremacy, but to achieve the weakest side of our personality.

War is a failure of politicians to communicate. After all previous wars, they never learn.

As another poet on PoemHunter has said, war is the remains of our barbarian past. Few of the civilised live to come out this past. The barbarian past shows it's fangs, when we are in power. Like a males tiger, man tends to set the boundaries of his territory…
