The Rebel Sheep (Sonnet) Poem by Mihaela Pirjol

The Rebel Sheep (Sonnet)

Rating: 4.1

Love is distorted now. —Is it the Fate?
Arid heart engulfed by contempt and hate;
Influenced by the prejudice and gain,
The rebel sheep re-joined its herd again:
Deluded breed, vain: —the vainest marble
Replaced the sweet, soulful heart in marvel.
Numbness…its quest for freedom it has failed;
Forever it will wonder—secret veiled.
I sense it frail in its fading prayer:
Disdain, bitterness, and spite, are error!
Love's purifying of soul has been damned:
The purest love is at evil's command!
One last splash of the bleeding bitter pain,
For once we two shared one heart; though, in vain.
