The Red Flower Poem by Richard Theze

The Red Flower

Rating: 5.0

Red flowers
Significantly
Not blue
Mark the
Graves
A symbol
I take it
In timeless
Remembrance
To honour
The brave
Who stood
True
To their beliefs
And lie now
Bones and teeth
Below ground
Where
The flowers grew

This is a beautiful poem dedicated to the memory of those brave souls who have enriched the lives of people in one way or the other before they called it curtains finally. Thanks for sharing a great tribute to those departed souls.

How great their sacrifice for freedom's sake, that we should honor with deep appreciation. Flags draped in fields of poppies... beautiful tribute, timely, as Veteran's Day nears. To those who served and those who continue to stand in harm's way...we salute you, we thank you. Wonderful write. PEACE

Seems no longer to be recognised or appreciated as much as it should be.

Thank you for your kind words. I agree that a one minute silence does not do justice to the sacrifices made.
