The Red Poppy By Louise Glück, The Nobel Laureate In Literature 2020 In Hindi/Urdu Translation

Laal Posti

Mun ka na hona
ek baDi baat hai. Bhaavna:
haaN, bhaavna mere paas hai.
ye meri sarkaar hai
akaash main mera swaami hai
jisay sooorya main kehti hoon
khul jaati hoon main us k liyay
apnay dil ki aag dikhnay k liyay
aag jo us ki tarah hai.
Kya mahima hogi agar dil nahin hai?
O mere bhaaeeo aur behno,
kya tum mere jaisay thay
baDay sameh pehlay
jab tum manush jaati k na thay?
Kya tum ek baar aakhri baar k liyay khulay thay?
Kyon k main ab such vaisay hi bol rehi hoon
jaisay tum boltay ho.
Main bol rehi hoon kyon k
main tukDay tukDay ho chuki hoon.

The Red Poppy
Louise Glück, the Nobel Laureate in Literature 2020

The great thing
is not having
a mind. Feelings:
oh, I have those; they
govern me. I have
a lord in heaven
called the sun, and open
for him, showing him
the fire of my own heart, fire
like his presence.
What could such glory be
if not a heart? Oh my brothers and sisters,
were you like me once, long ago,
before you were human? Did you
permit yourselves
to open once, who would never
open again? Because in truth
I am speaking now
the way you do. I speak
because I am shattered.

Should one open the heart, my answer is always.
