The Right For One To Write Poem by Ted Sheridan

The Right For One To Write

Rating: 5.0

The end was near___
His dying words were being silenced
by a Fascist nurse
who was always pulling the plug on him....
He could still write
both prose and poetry
but she showed no mercy
and starved him from the sound
of his own voice___
Others begged her to allow him to speak
for they too were thirsty
as thirsty as he was dehydrated
from the continuous denial of self expression....
Alas.....there would be no appeals.....
Only the nurse's censorship
and the Doctor's certiorari of this poets
Right to Write
which resulted in his eventual death by starvation.....
