The Satanic River Poem by Dorsey Baker

The Satanic River

The satanic river
with the strength
of its strong arms
it grabs the victim
and pulls them
way down under!
caught in its grip
there is no escape
swooping and swirling
it swallows them whole hog
the fisherman
baits his hook
trying to catch a fish
his boat rocks
but stays afloat
as heavy wind
blows overhead
and the river
is angry!
the river like a madman
on a rampage
busy being itself
taking its toll
it goes
on and on
it has no death
it lives forever!
