The Saucy, Sexy Smart Me - IV
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
It is the 75th anniversary of the end of the concentration camp of Auschwitz
It is the anniversary of death for many
Living hell for others
And a tortured life for those who were deprived of the company of their loved ones
Birthdays and celebrations lived in sorrow
Waiting for that special moment of release from daily woe,
Having lived through this sad life, knowing that Auschwitz
Coming to an end meant an end to the pathos of it all
And with it came a new beginning, a new chapter in their lives
Is something for us all to celebrate
I shall light a tealight for those men and women and children
Who were gassed in Auschwitz
And a candle in happiness for
Those of the living ones who made it and
Lived to tell this tale of horror
I shall say a Hindu prayer for both the survivors
And those who did not make it;

To lift me from the morose mood I have fallen into,
I shall bring out the saucy me
And all she says is: How do I make money
For honest work for with making money comes the ultimate
Success story if the money made is in an honest way
Besides, money is an essential "Vitamin M"
And my credit cards debt weighs down heavily upon my soul
But blithe am I of spirit
For despite the tiredness of soul
My being is full of hope for men have a conscience,
I am assured and despite the fact that Canada grants its citizens
Freedom of conscience in its Charter of Rights and Freedoms,
I am positive that the same men feel the twinge of unheeded conscience;

The sexy me perks up at the word, men of able means
And vast resources to pay me for my honest work
And I quote from Wilbur Smith's Men of Men, where the African character, Bazo
Tells his women gifted with magical powers, Tanase:
"What you feel against your thighs may feel like stone but it is actually flesh"
Continuing as myself, your poet, Gayathri B. Seetharam, I say,
What you, my dear man of the moment, my husband, feel against your stone of manhood
Is the fleshy inside of my soul which is the mirror to my lovemaking;

The smart me says, momentarily vanquished by the saucy and sexy me,
I have a soul within my conscience and
And love within my heart
And both speak to my psyche
And say, Become not weary of spirit and soul,
And pursue your interests,
For as I looked up the Charter of Rights and Freedoms,
Which grants mobility rights to its citizens and permanent residents
By saying that they have the right: b) to pursue the gaining of a livelihood in any province,
This brings me to the point I would like to debate on nationwide CBC TV, the fact
That I remain an unpaid worker.
