INTRODUCTION This is a poem by the lovely Actress Audrey Hepburn. I want to dedicate it to the equally lovely Poemhunter OLFA DRID.
For attractive lips - speak words of kindness
For lovely eyes - seek out the good in people
For a slim figure - share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair - let a child run its fingers through it once a day,
For poise - walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People - even more than things - have to be restored, renewed,
Revived, reclaimed, redeemed - never throw anyone out!
Remember - if your ever need a helping hand,
Most of us will find one at the end of each of our arms!
As we grow older most of us still have our two hands,
One for helping ourselves - the other for helping others!
Many thnx for the poem and for the dedication. This poem really echoes in simple not philosophical words, the concepts I'm preaching still despite of each and evry thing; charity, kindness, caring for 'poor' others...
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
This has always been one of my favorites, and it contained an epiphany of sorts I really needed to hear: 'People - even more than things - have to be restored, renewed, Revived, reclaimed, redeemed - never throw anyone out! ' The idea that people needed to be restored, renewed, reclaimed, redeemed; it made so much sense but never had I heard it before. I think my life was improved because of coming across Ms.Hepburns words; and also because, she was the loveliest actress I had ever seen.
