The Song Of Life: 7. Never Do The Wise Lament Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

You worry what's not worth worrying,
Mouthing words of wisdom unending,
Enlightened souls never grieve
The dead, nor worry for those that live. || 2.11 ||

Krishna chides Arjun for talking out of context, lamenting on what is not worth, and still talking like a wise old man. But the wise neither worry about the dead, nor alive. Here is the transliteration of the verse and meanings of Sanskrit words.

ashochyān anvashochah tvamprajñā-vādān cha bhāśhase |
gata-asūn agata-asūn cha na anu shochanti paņđitāh || 2.11 ||

ashochyān: what should not be grieved, not worth worrying; tvam: you;
anu ashochah: (you)grieve, lament; prajňāvādān cha: and words of wisdom, words of the learned; bhāśhase: (you)say, utter; gatāsūn: (gata asun = gone breath) , those who are dead
a-gatāsūn cha: and whose breath has not gone, those not yet dead; na anu-shochanti: lament not, grieve not (again and again): panđitāh: the wise, ; learned men.
