The Storm Poem by Lacey UnKnown

The Storm

Rating: 5.0

The lightning flashes bright outside
Right now I feel I've lost my mind
I see the rain fall quickly down
I see it and I want to drown
To drown away all of my fears
All the sadness, all the tears
The thunder rolls through midnight skies
I want to take back all the lies
The lies he told me haunt me now
Looking back I can't see how
How could I have been so blind
There must be something more to find
Another love who can understand
How I feel, still in love, yet mad
No matter how hard I try I can't forget
What I gave to him, there's no more to give
He got it all and then he left
But my heart he too easily kept
I know I should have taken it back
Yet he still has it and now I lack
I lack the heart that I once had
I can't find a new love, for I will be sad
Sad that I have nothing for him
For it was all given to another on whim
So for now I'll watch the lightning outside
And feel like I have lost my mind

Time heals, it really does, and writing it all down, good work again. Shaun.
