The Sun Forgot To Shine Today
The sun forgot to shine today
No light upon the land to play
As darkness clouded full the sky
With falling rain - I sigh, I sigh.
Where sits his glowing countenance
No more through heavens eyes to glance
And where his warmth in ether's space
Cast from his luminescent face.
Why does he hide, we need his love
Cascading down from heav'n above
His light to guide us through the day
So chasing all the gloom away.
I'm pleading for his swift return
Upon the earth once more to burn
The flowers need his tender care
The trees his energy to share.
Come, come, oh Sol and bless the dawn
Illuminating each new morn
Giving forth your gracious light
Relinquishing the cold, dark night.

Excellently done! For the record I too mourn the passing of the sun.
