The Sweet Little Bird In A Cage Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

The Sweet Little Bird In A Cage

I am a sweet little bird
I have a color so soothing
Trapped in a cage of iron
A sweet prayer I keep on singing

I am a sweet little bird
I am innocent and weak
I can do no harm to anyone
Only give a soft bite with my beak

I am a sweet little bird
They know it very well
Only the harmless and pretty
Are caged as home pets or to sell

I am a sweet little bird
I can't ever be set free
I am born to sing as a slave
Not by flying or sitting in a tree
