The Unraveling Mind Poem by louis rams

The Unraveling Mind

The unraveling mind
There comes a time in your life when everything is wrong and nothing seems right.
When your sight starts to fail and your house seems like a jail.
When you become an annoyance to your family and the fighting goes on endlessly.
When your finances is out of whack and time cannot be turned back.
When the days turn into nights and you continue to argue, fuss and fight.
When I cannot see what I write and my senses are out of sight

When you no longer know what to do and time has crept up on you.
When you feel you are just a fixture in others eyes and you have no place to hide.
I start to write as I always had done and hopefully I won't hurt anyone.
If I had been an artist and knew how to draw I'd have pictures of faces and so much more.
I stare at the walls or floor and images appear, possibly from things of a yesteryear.
Is this my future that I now see and will this just become a memory.
