The Villain Of The Piece Poem by Shaun Cronick

It's not easy being the villain of the piece,
Always and forever type-cast in dark light.
I'm a wicked Nemesis with foul plans to pursue,
Simply to rule this planet with sinister spite.

I lust to dominate this goody two-shoes world,
On which my many diabolical plans to be unfurled.
I'm always kitted-out and dressed in black,
And committed to crime there's no turning back.

To cunningly plan and execute an audacious heist,
For the value of gold today is so overpriced.
It transforms me to become ruthless and psychotic,
My greed for gold's gleam and allure is so hypnotic.

My vast hordes of henchmen so full of self-sacrifice,
Who idolise and worship me more than Jesus H Christ.
They'll always obey me to hijack kidnap or to kill,
It strokes my ego and gives my dark side such a frill.

I have a femme-fatale Suki born of far-east origins,
So equally vile and full of exotic inventive sins.
My Mata Hari of pleasurable pain forever by my side,
She doesn't really love me she's along for the ride.

For every number two yearns to be number one,
Suki's such a gifted artist with a shark spear-gun.
She's also a back-stabbing bitch who's good in bed,
Who secretly yearns and wishes to see me dead.
I watch her closely never ever turn my back,
On this sexy power-hungry nymphomaniac.

But there's always a damn hero some Holmes or Bond,
Against my devious plots they heroically respond.
Time after time I lay a false trail to simply confuse,
But my ticking bombs these goody two-shoes easily defuse.

So yes I lay a false trail to puzzle and confuse,
And lesser detectives dead-ends keep me so amused.
For those who hunt and seek me are so very intrusive,
There lies for them a grisly demise so very exclusive,
Of such cruel originality it's so murderously conclusive!

But in the end the rugged hero always prevails,
With his good looks he out-wits me and never fails.
And at my demise the world thinks it's seen the last of me,
But I'll be back, you wait and see....
