The Wife Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

The Wife

Rating: 5.0

She comes out to place
The lamp on the stair
As evening falls and
There is peace in the air

She goes inside to stand
Before gods and pray
To shed all her fatigues
At the end of the day

Chained to a life of chores
She does not have a choice
Rushes to light the hearth
As she hears his voice

Placing her head on his
Chest she will dream again
In the shadow of his love
Her heart won't weep in pain
