The Wrong Way Poem by Paula Glynn

The Wrong Way

Some will disagree with you,
And tell you you're going the wrong way,
That you must be wrong and they must be right,
But you have to trust your gut instinct,
As I do mine, and follow your own way,
Because you are you and you must trust yourself,
So carry on your life journey,
And do as needs must, but at night,
Know that you are strong and you are you,
For you should please no one but yourself in this life,
It often seems people are harsh with their opinions,
But that is their problem, so don't make it yours,
So when you go to bed at night, trust in the powers above,
That you know what you are doing,
So that when another questions your choices,
You will be able to drown out that inner critic,
And follow your own path, because you are you,
And you must do whatever it is you have chosen to do.
