The Zees Poem by Jaishree Nair

The Zees

Rating: 5.0

The classroom in chaos and confusion,
Heedless to the words of wisdom,
The boys roam about like hearing -impaired.
The market place vivid in vision!

Gone are the days when their eyes gleamed with respect,
Gone are the days when their smile of welcome
created an aura of learning!
The vain and conceit of wealth's selfishness
narrowing the minds to a dot.

The remedial stick, a restricted nostalgic memory
A panacea for the strayed ones,
Unwary, unknown, unaware,
Sinking into the despondency of darkness,
These unruly, untamed, but brainy future of tomorrow's world!
