There's Power In Praying Poem by Gary James Smith

There's Power In Praying

There's Power In Praying

There's power in praying in that name
That gives us eternal life
That offers pardon for our sin
The cessation of our strife
Who bore the brunt of Calvary
Hanging on an old rugged Cross
Who alone can break the heart of stone
And give His Holy Spirit to us

I do not pray to feeble men
Who haven't risen from the dead
Who have not shown love to the degree
That the Lord our Saviour did
Who even loved His enemies
And at His weakest moment said
'Father forgive them for they know not what they do'
In Him my prayer life is laid

He went alone to a garden to pray
On many an occasion we read
To be alone with His Father God
Such was His intimate need
To express what was on His heart
For the world that He came to save
Praise God for the example that He set
Hallelujah Lord Jesus prayed!

There's still power in that name
Under Heaven given amongst men
For there's Salvation in none other
Hallelujah! Praise God! Amen!
If He who made this whole wide world
And gives us the grace to live each day
Has the power to sustain it still
Then praise God I shall pray! ! !

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
