These Times We Live In Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

These Times We Live In

I could care less who did what,
To get others upset.
And the reasons why some got involved,
When called and told about a doing done...
Three or four months ago.
If everyone grew up and stop acting like children,
They would find a solution to their issues.

"But...
They are just kids."

KIDS? !
You know how old those 'kids' are?

"No.
What difference does that make? "

Hmmm...
Maybe you are right.
I didn't think of it that way.
Afterall...
Only a few of them are grandparents.
And the others?
Some of them are either in their late 60's.
Or mid 70's.
Who knows What tomorrow will bring?
Some kids do mature quicker than others.

"That's what I'm trying to tell you.
We just have to learn to be more patient.
These kids today are not like they use to be.
And neither are these times we live in."

I'm so glad you are the reasonable one.
I agree.
I have been too quick to pass judgement.
