Theycarry Joy With Them Poem by Francis Duggan

Theycarry Joy With Them

People who are happy are a pleasure to meet
They carry joy with them when walking the street
And even to strangers smile and say good day
They are so easy to like in their own cheerful way
The joy that is in them with others they share
But people like them sad to say seem so rare
Their gift of happiness is a wonderful thing
Wherever they are at joy with them they bring
Few wish to know of those who wear a frown
Feeling angry with life the grumpy of the town
Since they sadly lack in the bright inner glow
They are not the sort many of wish to know
Yes people who are happy are a pleasure to meet
They carry joy with them when walking the street.
