This Is Love, A Rendering Of A Rumi's Love Poem Poem by Ravi Kopra

This Is Love, A Rendering Of A Rumi's Love Poem

Rating: 5.0

Love is first
to lose your self
to lift a hundred
secret curtains of
your heart and offer
yourself to your beloved

in total surrender
to walk on earth
without feet and fly
in air without wings
in the invisible world

Heart, I said
what a gift it has been
to enter the heart of
my beloved and to see
myself beyond my self
to reach her and feel
within the breast.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A rendering of the following from web pages -

This is love: to fly toward a secret sky,
to cause a hundred veils to fall each moment.
First, to let go of live.
In the end, to take a step without feet;
to regard this world as invisible,
and to disregard what appears to be the self.

Heart, I said, what a gift it has been
to enter this circle of lovers,
to see beyond seeing itself,
to reach and feel within the breast.
