This Too Shall Pass Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

This Too Shall Pass

Rating: 5.0

From daunting lockdown at home
If your mind's lost, heart to roam,
Spare a thought on him in long prison
Of twenty seven years all alone,
And in absolute isolation,
Family, nor luxury—
Nothing more than a diary,
And of course hope and vision,
And the approaching mission!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A few weeks of isolation, just mild social distancing, and many of us are at our wits' end. This little piece tells us to see the light at the end of the tunnel, the way Nelson Mandela did. He was in extreme isolation for 27 years in what is now South Africa.

lock down! Isolation! self imprisonment! Yet have hope we will win truly at last and still alive for that day
