Thug Dookey Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Thug Dookey

Anyone who has lived in ghettos.
Where projects are built,
To house those to keep poor.
With labels to place to lay blame.
Is familiar with the smell,
Of thug dookey.
And know it done not to come,
From the ones bottomed out.
But nonstop from the top to drop it.

Left to leave easily by others with needs,
To distract and disguise...
The sleazing dumping of their activities.
Criminal and corrupted.
While making accusations to have believed,
The ones already suffering from disparities...
Could at least do what they please,
Behind closed doors.
Doors boarded up and owned by slum lords!
