Tilly Speaks Poem by Tom Billsborough

Tilly Speaks

Dame paresseuse, allongée sur ma chaise
Fourroure noire mas pas de culotte
Tu choisie la vie comme un Dieu
ou l'empereur Auguste étendant une patte
Pour recueillir le fruit de tes travaux.
Comment fais tu ca?
"Ah, Je comprends tous mais dit rien.
Nous l'appelons la sagesse, " elle répondait.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The English is... Lazy lady, stretched out on my chair.. black fur but no knickers. You choose Life like a God or the Emperor Augustus stretching out a paw to gather in the fruits of your labours. How do you get away with it?
"Ah, I know everything but I say nothing. We call that wisdom, " she replied.
Tilly's my new catMathilde Henrietta to give her her posh name!

Tilly sounds like a fun new cat for you, Tom. Mr. Purry would approve, I'm sure!

She has a twin sister who comes round every couple of days for a free breakfast. Must remember to hide the Caviar!
