To Be Young Once More Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

To Be Young Once More

Rating: 5.0

We picked flowers for hours,
Had fun in the sun,
Climbed trees in the woodland,
Till our day was done.

We made chains from the daisies,
Walked around acting cool,
Walked every morning,
To our old red brick school.

We thought life was a fairytale,
Of butterflies and bees,
We'd walk to the mountain,
Look down over the trees.

We were young and we loved it,
But then we grew up,
The years went by quickly,
Time's not long enough.
