To Keep A Distance Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

To Keep A Distance

No one's time given,
To others done unselfishly...
Should be accepted to waste.
Or replaced by excuses made.
With the belief the doing of it is okay.
It's not.
And will not be forgotten.

Since those who give,
Seldom seek attention.
Or care less if they've been mentioned,
By those who have taken them for granted...
As being sensitive.
Especially when that time comes,
When one decides to keep a distance.
