To My Fellow Human Beings Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

To My Fellow Human Beings

To my fellow human beings.
Living the World over.
No longer living isolated,
From horrific scenes.
Once kept to keep,
Successfully hidden.

What appears to make clear,
Is reality!
A reality of a truth,
Stripped to bare...
The evidence of deception.
And painful for many it is,
To witness this violence trying...
Every way it can,
Applying lies...
Hoping to keep them kept,
Surviving!

But...
To my fellow human beings.
Blessed to receive,
Life to live...
With breath to breathe.
And experience this miracle,
Only God has created.
There is no one who despises,
What God has done did to do.
To believe themselves...
Exceptions anointed.
Perceiving they can and will,
Refuse this truth to undo.
Because of a skin color.
Or an ethnic heritage...
Of others they don't have.
This decision,
Only God has made.
To eliminate.
If God so chooses,
This choice to make.
Leaving no one qualified,
A doing God does...
Is a mistake God has made.
To debate.
Or create destruction.
Cheered on to celebrate.

A sickened vindictiveness,
Has no future.
A sickened vindictiveness,
Restricts itself to limits.
A sickened vindictiveness,
Has its own tragic end.
A sickened vindictiveness,
Eventually learns,
God is the teacher.
Seldom to repeat a lesson,
Many refuse.
To believe too late,
A forgiveness is earned!

To my fellow human beings,
Only God rules to obey.
Or suffer the consequences,
Of betrayal.
Treason and its deception.

Racists in all places,
Will face God to be judged.
