To No Avail Poem by Sandra Feldman

To No Avail

I try to occupy my mind
And hide from pain
Thru figures
Of white ghost-like alabaster
I sadly do remain
Within the pain, of your departure
And living now, to no avail.
Pain hugs my heart
And is my master,
Now living, never is the same,
I cry and hurt so much, much faster
As if all tears were in your name,
Surviving solitude not easy
A beast impossible to tame.
